Co.Ma.Co SpA was established in 1991 in Turin, Italy. It still maintains its headquarters there today. Since its establishment it has become one of the leading traders in its market. Its main activity consist of the importation of fresh, green bananas, of the Cavendish variety from Central and South America (mainly Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala and Costa Rica)

Using its own fleet of vessels and relying on its qualified logistics team, which has been completely integrated into the company, it commercializes about 27,000,000 cartons of bananas on a yearly basis. With its mainstream deliveries consisting in the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Middle East areas.

Co.Ma.Co SpA serves its valued customers with more than 14 different registered brand marks such as: LE FRUIT D’OR, FORZA BANANA, BANANEC, CENTURY 21, AVANTI and STAR, just to mention a few.

The company works largely in the following markets:  Algeria, Libya, Syria, Iran, Albania, Croatia, Serbia, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Turkey, Tunisia and Georgia.

Co.Ma.Co SpA purchases its bananas from among some of the most prestigious and competent exporters in Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala and Costa Rica and has built strong, lasting relationships over the years. This has enabled the company to be competitive in their reference markets and provide their clientele base with exceptional quality produce throughout the year. In order to guarantee the superior quality to the final buyer, all the bananas are carefully hand selected and have to pass stringent and severe quality and sanitary standards.

Co.Ma.Co SpA has a sales, logistics, operations and accounting department in its main headquarters of Turin, Italy.

The sale of significant volumes (complete vessels from 5,000 to 8,000 MT’s) in the Mediterranean and Black sea is markets are monitored by Mr. Pasquale Mastricci from the Turin office. Mr. Hermann Mallia oversees the North African and Black Sea markets from the Malta office and Mr. Luca Aragone follows Eastern Med and Middle East operations from the Genoa office.

In addition, Co.Ma.Co SpA has a European banana operation where it distributes fruit to its customers on a weekly basis, principally via North European ports. With Primary deliveries based on the recognized brand “BANANEC”, within the European community.

The share of sales in the European market held by the company has been growing consistently. These sales are managed directly from the headquarters in Turin.

In 2006, Co.Ma.Co SpA expanded the assortment of products that it procured. Offering to its appreciated clients other varieties of fruits such as apples, kiwis, pears, citruses, nuts, peaches, nectarines and more.  Co.Ma.Co SpA markets products that are supplied by producers in Italy, Argentine, Chile, South Africa and other countries where the company operates with the support of its local strategic partners.

To guarantee its customers regularity and continuative supplies, the company has its own fleet of Reefer vessels. As well as, constructive alliances with other transport operators for inland deliveries.

Co.Ma.Co SpA, supervises and coordinates the transport of its cargo very carefully chartering reliable and modern tonnage, thanks to its logistics department. This guarantees a continuous and precise attention to the goods during the whole voyage, from the loading to their delivery to the final receiver.

The logistics department monitors the journey conditions of the cargo on a daily basis, making sure that they are optimal allowing them to deliver the highest of quality standards.
